The City of Dublin participated in the annual nationwide Manufacturing Day event on Friday, October 7, 2016. Manufacturing Day was created to tell the story about the importance of manufacturing in the United States economy. Manufacturing jobs are high wage and high growth. In addition, manufacturing is a driver of the East Bay economy, contributing 70,000+ jobs, and is an important segment of Dublin's economy.
The Tri-Valley Manufacturing Day festivities were sponsored in collaboration with local educational institutions, participating manufacturing businesses, and the cities of Livermore and Pleasanton. The event featured facility tours and presentations at Tri-Valley manufacturers including AMP Printing in Dublin, as well as firms from Livermore and Pleasanton. Other activities included a lunch reception and exhibits sponsored by Electro Imaging Systems and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers-Silicon Valley Chapter, among others.
Select local high school students from around the Tri-Valley, college students from Las Positas College, and members from the Society of Manufacturing Engineers Silicon Valley Chapter were among those attending the facility tours. Thank you to all helped with this worthwhile event.
