City of Dublin Honored for Recycled Water Leadership

The City of Dublin was recently named "Recycled Water Customer of the Year" by WateReuse California.  Dublin San Ramon Services District (DSRSD) nominated the City for the award based on its leadership in the use of recycled water throughout Dublin.  Mayor David Haubert accepted the award at a ceremony on March 20 in San Diego.

The City of Dublin's General Plan has required purple pipes (recycled water) in new developments since 1993.  In 1999, the Dublin Sports Grounds became DSRSD's first recycled water customer.  Today, 91% of water used for Dublin's municipal operations is recycled water.   Working with DSRSD, nearly all City of Dublin parks, facilities, street medians, schools, shopping centers, apartment complexes, business parks, churches, and homeowner association common areas now use recycled water.
