Market Tavern, a unique and successful restaurant concept, plans to open its second location in Hacienda Crossings, in the former site of Mimi’s Café.
Market Tavern is an innovative concept that provides locally-sourced and sustainable foods and ingredients in a market setting, plus offers a high-quality, sit-down restaurant and bar experience with many modern, new American classics. The first location was opened in Lincoln Center in Stockton in 2013. The Dublin location is expected to open in Spring 2018 following extensive interior improvements.
Chef Nicholas diArenzo and restaurateur Phillip Wong are owners of the Market Tavern. They met at the iconic Moose’s restaurant in San Francisco when Mr. diArenzo was the Chef de Cuisine and Mr. Wong was the owner. After Chef diArenzo returned from Spain following working at a Michelin three-star restaurant, the two decided to open Market Tavern. According to their website, they wanted Market Tavern to be a place with “friendly service, outstanding food, and a well thought out beverage program.” They also wanted Market Tavern to be a place where “people can pick up local produce, olive oils, grab-and-go food, wine, beer, and other cool unique products.”
