A member of the Rock Poster Society will share a collection of vintage rock posters from the '60s, and talk about the music and bands that inspired the art. The Rock Poster Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to rock poster art, past and present, to increasing public awareness of the artists who create rock posters, and to supporting the community of artists and collectors who love it. This program is free and part of the Library's celebration of the 50th anniversary of the "Summer of Love." This program will be held in the Virginia S. Bennett room, accessible through the children's area of the library.
April 12, 2017 - June 25, 2017 @ Dublin Heritage Park and Museums
Set in a detective’s office in Dublin sometime between the Great Depression and WWII, visiting detectives can try to solve true mysteries by perusing through vintage facsimile documents and photographs to gather true history clues. Discover who’s who by examining “Sleuth Trunks” filled with vintage photo albums, letters and newspaper clippings that tell mysterious stories from Dublin’s past. Study case files and learn about some of Dublin’s more colorful characters like the visionary Lois Jordon (aka the White Angel), who ran a soup kitchen in Dublin. While set in a fun and fictitious environment, the exhibit will have solid facts and provide clues that will lead the way to successful research for historians and the curious of all ages. This exhibit is open Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, only.
