Emerald Glen Rose Garden
Help support the rose garden expansion project at Emerald Glen Park by donating either your time, money, or both! By donating $100, you will help move this project forward. As a thank you for your donation, your name will be memorialized on one of nearly 70 rosebushes to be planted as part of the project, and will be featured on a sign posted near the rose garden. If you want to help plant the roses, please register to volunteer by clicking on the “Register now” link under Volunteer Day and request the Rose Garden Expansion preference. Non-perishable food items will be collected at both Safeway locations during Dublin Pride Week and at the Volunteer Day event on April 26th. The donations will be presented to food banks which service Dublin, such as the Children's Emergency Council and the Open Heart Kitchen.
On Thursday, May 1, 2014, the City of Dublin is sponsoring a Volunteer Fair at the Dublin Farmers’ Market. Like “Dublin Pride Week,” the Volunteer Fair has been designed to promote and support volunteerism in the Dublin community. If you are a member of a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, and would like to meet community members interested in volunteering with your group, we invite you to participate in this free event! Household Hazardous Waste Collection and Compost Giveaway
Amador Valley Industries and the City of Dublin will once again offer Dublin residents safe disposal for unwanted household toxics and residents can also pick up a free bag of compost. This event is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, 2014. Appointments are required and will be accepted until all appointments are filled.
Water Wise Workshop
Please join us for a fun, free, and informative workshop for residents to learn what you can do in your home and garden to reduce your water use. The event will include interesting talks by experts on water conservation. This event is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, 2014, from 9:00 am - 1:30 pm in the Regional Meeting Room at City Hall. Prescription Drug Collection Event
Dublin Police Services will be participating along with the Drug Enforcement Administration in this year’s national prescription drug “Take-Back Initiative”. The goal of the event is to collect potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs for destruction. The free and anonymous collection event will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Civic Center parking lot at 100 Civic Plaza. Dublin Police Officers will collect tablets, capsules, and all other solid dosage forms of prescription medications-no questions asked. Intravenous solutions, injectable and syringes will not be accepted.
