Dublin Pride Week Volunteer Day hosts many fun and rewarding volunteer opportunities for citizens. Please check back with the City next year for our 30th Anniversary Dublin Pride Week Volunteer Day participation.
Non-perishable food items will be collected at both Safeway locations during Dublin Pride Week and at the Volunteer Day on April 27th. The donations will be presented to food banks that solely service Dublin, such as the Children's Emergency Council, the Well Christian Community and others.
Poster and Essay Contest
The Dublin Pride Poster Contest is intended for students to demonstrate their artistic talents as to why our community is a great place to live and incorporate this year's theme of "Our Hands, Our Future". All students in grades K-12 are invited to participate. Click here

Urban Cycling 101 Adult Class (Part 1)
Learn how to ride your bike in traffic! Part 1 of the 2 part course series taught by a certified instructor from the League of American Bicyclists, includes safe cycling basics, riding in traffic, crash avoidance, rights and responsibilities. Family Bicycle Workshop
Learn traffic safety with your kids! This fun and interactive 2 1/2 hour course builds safe road-cycling skills for the whole family using: games, drills, discussion and a neighborhood ride. Adults and kids must bring their own bicycles and helmets to the class and be able to ride in order to participate.
All ages are welcome! This event is scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2013, from 10:00am to 12:30pm, Frederiksen Elementary School.

In Part 2 of the course, participants will take the skills learned during the Part 1 class and put them into practice to improve their handling skills, emergency maneuvers, and ability to confidently an safely share the road with other traffic. Bag It Movie
There will be two showings during Dublin Pride Week of the movie Bag It. Did you know that Americans use 60,000 plastic bags every five minutes—single-use disposable bags that we throw away. But where is “away?” Where do the bags and other plastics end up, and at what cost to our environment, marine life and human health? This thought-provoking documentary runs 65 minutes. Join us for this free showing. Movie is first come-first served. Wednesday, May 1 at 7:00 p.m. at the City Hall Regional Meeting Room at 100 Civic Plaza, and Saturday, May 4 at 1:30 pm in Library Community Room at 200 Civic Plaza. After the movie, we’ll have a conversation.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection and Compost Giveaway
Amador Valley Industries and the City of Dublin will once again offer Dublin residents safe disposal for unwanted household toxics and residents can also pick up of free bag of compost. Prescription Drug Collection Event
Dublin Police Services will be participating along with the Drug Enforcement Administration in this year’s national prescription drug “Take-Back Initiative”. The goal of the event is to collect potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs for destruction. The free and anonymous collection event will take place on Saturday, April 27th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Civic Center parking lot at 100 Civic Plaza. Dublin Police Officers will collect tablets, capsules, and all other solid dosage forms of prescription medications-no questions asked. Intravenous solutions, injectable and syringes will not be accepted.
